Lyrical Violence

The First song from the "Lyrical Bullets" Album. This is also the first rap song I ever wrote. It was written during my Junior year of high school. I believe it was in History class. I also believe it was written during the Civil Rights section of the class.  So since I was one of two black guys in the entire class, obviously I was a little on edge. I desperatley needed something to distract me from the uncomfortable stares from the other students every time the word "Negro" was mentioned while our ill-prepared History techer read from the poorly written text book. So I started writing.

The song was my attempt at a Hardcore Battle Rhyme and, as you can see from the overly creative song title, it is an aggressive ballad of hypothetical video game/action movie-style violence that only a teenage boy can express properly.  When me and my boy (The other Black Guy in the class) decided to write these rhymes the goal was to literally write the most ridiculous, grandiose thing we could imagine.

Beat Style:
If this song was recorded, the beat would be extremely bass heavy with hard snare drums and an Electric Guitar loop complimented by some strong, deep horns. Imagine if M.O.P. and Ghostface Killah recorded a song for the Conan The Barbarian soundtrack. And imagine they recorded that song in a Dark Medieval Dungeon...Yeah, It would sound something like that.

Name: "Lyrical Violence"
Album: Lyrical Bullets (Track 1)
Date: April 8, 1998

I'll bust a hole in your chest when I speak
Call me the Punisher,
I'm not Big Pun, I ain't a Player,
But I'll Still Crush your shit.
Leave you breathless from the Rhymes I spit
Back slap your punk ass to Tokyo
Your weak rhymes are a Joke, Yo

Walking through this Cold World
My raps reign supreme
Killing you Suckas with my words
leaving a gruesome scene

Tragedy like Shakespeare
I'll shake the spear
and jab it through your heart
Make your bones fall apart

The Guillotine
Unheard, Unseen
Dropping lyrics full time
Never Decline
Unless you intervene divine

I am the...
Lightning bolt that's striking your mind
December to November
My Rhymes travel through time
and make you fall to your knees
Like STD's
I'll sneak up on you and ruin your life
Remain Sharp
Cut your throat like a knife

My Rhymes stab you
Leaving holes from your head to your navel
Have you coughing up phlegm
with blood dripping out your Nasal

You can't duck this Lyrical Violence
Coming through and killing the silence
I make sure everybody hears it
'Cause when you hear it, you Fear it.

Music Video Vision:
The music video for this song would be an over the top, fast paced Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat-esque fighting tournament where I'm walking through a desert in the middle of a thunderstorm punching hundreds of frail enemies in the face as they jump out of the ground one by one like a scene from the movie Tremors. At the end i'm sitting on a golden throne in a massive castle with all of my beaten down foes scattered all over the floor tending to their wounds as I uncontrollably laugh at their defeat.
